CONCORD, NH – An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway on Route 4 in Northwood following a domestic incident and armed standoff with police that left one man dead.

The Capital Region Fire Department dispatched Northwood Ambulance to a home on the First New Hampshire Turnpike near Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m. for a man with a gunshot wound. About 15 minutes later, the man was shot in the stomach and was unconscious and unresponsive.

Ambulances from Epsom and Stratford were also sent to the scene. One was sent to check on an officer who was injured in the incident. By 6:30 a.m. all ambulances were back in action

An autopsy will take place Tuesday, according to Michael Garrity, communications director for the attorney general's office. No identity has been released pending notification of next of kin. He said police were in the area after a disturbance was reported.

“There is no known risk to the public at this time,” Garrity said.
