Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, October 5, 2024? UCF football fans react to Florida game: 'Just give the Gators the win'

According to Rapoport, no trade is expected this week, but discussions have become more heated since it was announced that Adams requested a trade. Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce deflected the speculation, saying only that Adams was dealing with a hamstring injury after missing last week's game. According to Rapoport, Adams is not expected to play Sunday against the Broncos.

Carr said he would not reveal details about why Adams feels about his situation in Las Vegas.

“That’s his whole thing,” Carr said. “Just as a man, I would let him talk about all his issues. He is a friend. He knows that I love him and I am always there for him, far beyond football. But I would like to speak for him, I would never do that.”

Carr wanted to be careful not to violate the league's tampering rules, but said he would be happy to reunite with his former teammate.

“I think all 32 quarterbacks would love to play with Davante. We would welcome that,” Carr said. “I don’t know if I would get in trouble for saying that. I think it’s just that everyone knows that.”

If Adams is eager to work with one of his former quarterbacks again on his next team, Rodgers certainly makes a lot of sense. Adams was drafted by Green Bay and spent his first eight NFL seasons there with Rodgers. In 116 regular season games, he caught 669 passes for 8,121 yards and 73 TD catches.

But Carr and Adams also put up some big numbers together in the 2022 season, with 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. The latter two numbers were the second-best totals of his career, and his 180 goals from Carr were a career high for the 6-11 Raiders this season.

“So we didn't win as many games as we thought, but it wasn't all bad. We certainly had fun,” Carr said. “…I think it was (Adams') second-best year of his career (in 2022 with the Raiders). The narrative that it didn't work out is correct because we didn't win that many games. But when it comes to getting him the ball and scoring a lot of touchdowns, I think it went pretty well.”

Carr said that trade talks are “sometimes things that are out of our control” and that he is “so focused here” on the Saints, who have lost two straight games after starting the season 0-2. But still, he won't stop the Saints from potentially signing one of the NFL's elite receivers – who happens to be his friend.

“I think everyone would love to play with Tae,” Carr said. “I would of course welcome playing with him again. If that ever works out in our careers.”
