The return home to the Bob Devaney Sports Center begins the same way as Thursday night's weekday trip to Champagne, Illinois for Nebraska volleyball – without Andi Jackson.

The sophomore-to-be missed the Oct. 3 win over Illinois due to an undisclosed injury. Nearly 50 minutes before the start of the Huskers' home game against Iowa, Jackson was reported by multiple media outlets as once again unavailable for the Big Red.

The news was first presented on the Huskers Radio Network's pregame show with John Baylor and Lauren Cook West, as the injury was announced as “common” but without any context to the injury itself. The Colorado native was in her first season on the AVCA All-Region team and also received second-team All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten Freshman Team recognition in 2023.

Jackson was one of the deadly threats to Nebraska's strong start, helping the No. 2 Huskers with 117 kills and a .475 hitting percentage, good for sixth in the country and second in the Big Ten Conference. Her presence inside has helped the Huskers rank 11th in the country in overall scoring percentage.

In Jackson's absence, San Diego transfer Leyla Blackwell will make her second start of the season. Blackwell had six kills in her performance Thursday night.

Additionally, Taylor Landfair will start at the outside hitter position for the second straight year, likely opposite Harper Murray. The Minnesota transfer had eight kills in three sets against Illinois and has 49 total kills with a .336 hitting percentage this season. Landfair had a game-changing performance against UCLA nearly 10 days ago to open Big Ten play, coming off the bench with a season-high 13 kills.

Nebraska battles the 8-7 Hawkeyes at 2 p.m. CDT at the Bob Devaney Sports Center with television coverage on Nebraska Public Media. The Huskers are hoping Jackson returns before a tough home game against No. 10 Purdue in Lincoln on Friday night.
