Arsenal host Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening in the second game of the 2024/25 Champions League season.

The Gunners come into the game in good form and sit third in the Premier League, just a point off the top, although they fought to a 0-0 draw against Atalanta in Bergamo in the first game of the competition's new format.

Mikel Arteta's side face their first major European test, playing against French champions PSG, who are once again at the top of Ligue 1 after five wins in their first six games.

However, the Paris team also struggled in their first European game, needing an own goal in the 90th minute to get past Spanish side Girona at home.

Arsenal will be looking to take four points from two Champions League games in midweek, but arguably their toughest test in the new eight-game league phase lies ahead when they host Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta's team are third in the Premier League after four wins from six, although they have won just two of their last six in all competitions and needed injury-time goals to beat Leicester at the weekend.

In their last European game they drew 0-0 with Atalanta, while PSG beat Girona 1-0 thanks to a last-minute goalkeeping error. Domestically, the French team has five wins and one draw so far and is already at the top, although currently only on goal difference.

Arsenal will face Shakhtar, Inter Milan and Sporting in the upcoming games of this competition.
