Chris Martin reflects on Choldplay's 'terrible' music journey

Coldplay delivered a rocking performance at their SiriusXM shows on Monday.

During their performance in Brooklyn, Chris Martin, the band's frontman, addressed the crowd and thanked the fans.

Martin said: “Thank you all for being here. I know some of you have worked with Sirius. I know some of you helped pay Sirius, but I know most of you were just listening to Sirius and we are so grateful to see you.” We are so grateful to see you.

He added lightheartedly that making “new songs” frustrates people “when you're an older band.”

“I know this is annoying for some of you. But once upon a time, even the song 'Viva La Vida' was new and everyone in the room was like, 'What the hell is that? They have shit. already.”

The singer jokingly added: “It's amazing how many people think every new song is terrible. And then, ten years later, it's a worldwide super classic hit. This happened maybe three times. The other 76 songs were just terrible.”

The show started with Martin, who performed the title song from her 10th album. His bandmates Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion joined him in performances of their other hits including: feels like I'm falling in love, Yellow And Viva La Vida.
