JR and Candice's birth details

On Saturday (September 28), JR Smith and Candice Patton announced the birth of their baby boy in a joint Instagram post.

The adorable photo collection features the newborn in a cozy onesie and other pictures of him resting in bed. Another snap shows JR proudly cradling his son in one arm.

Candice posted photos and videos on Instagram showing the infant's little feet. In her caption, she shared that she and JR welcomed their baby boy home.

“Son in virgin. Born at home. The heart now beats outside my chest. Forever in love 💕👣”

This is JR and Candice's first child together, although he has three daughters with his estranged wife – Demi, Denver and Peyton Jewel Harris.

Page Six reports that JR and Candice first sparked dating rumors in October 2019 when a photo of them at a Halloween party appeared on social media.

The Innanet was quick to react to the photo, which fueled speculation that he was cheating on his wife Jewel. However, TMZ reveals that JR has clarified his marriage status and explains that he and Jewel have been separated for some time.

Concern grew after Jewel claimed on Instagram that she knew everything about JR and Candice Patton's alleged affair.

In the viral 2019 clip, Jewel mentions both JR and Candice by name, according to TMZ. In the video, she claims that God spoke to her and prompted her to go public with the situation.

“My husband is hurt and Candice is hurt. For her to go out of here, Father God, and find a married man, I just pray that you give her grace and mercy through all of this,” Jewel says in the video.

At the time, JR apparently responded to Jewel's video with a post saying that Instagram wasn't a suitable platform for relationships.

“IG is not a place for relationships!! But God told me to tell you all that I have been separated for months. He doesn’t understand why his kid didn’t mention this… #thatsall,” Jewel wrote.
