Are the Raiders and Davante Adams heading for a divorce?

The receiver had a chance to put an end to the trade rumors during an interview on “Up & Adams” on Tuesday and didn't take it.

Host Kay Adams noted that many think he played his last down for the Raiders and asked what he would say about that.

“All I can control is this conversation we’re having here. And when we're done with that, there's only one thing I can control the next thing I plan to dosaid Davante Adams. “So, I'm about to get up and get a nice workout in, and that's all I can control.”

That's certainly not a no. However, there is further context to these comments.

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce's Instagram account apparently liked a Sports Illustrated post: “Don't be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders,” implying that the Raiders receiver could be traded. Adams said Tuesday that he hadn't heard anything about it from Pierce and it was clear he would like to do it.

“I haven't spoken to him. So yeah, I don’t really know what it was about,” Adams said. “Obviously… social media is a beast, so there are a lot of people out there who saw it and are wondering what's going on – people who are coming forward. And yes, I haven’t spoken to him.”

Adams added that it was “difficult to comment on the situation.”

“But it’s one of those situations where I keep my head down and keep doing my thing — letting things fall where they may,” Adams said. “But I haven’t – since this happened there hasn’t been any communication from anyone on the team.

“But you know, it's a bit like the weekly question, 'What about 'Tae?' Something like that. There is always some kind of drama. But in the end, One-Seven can't do any of that. So people can say whatever they want, but I just relax and try to be the example of not subverting and just going with it and doing what I have to do.”

Kay Adams ended the interview with, “I hope you hear from your coach today,” to which Davante Adams replied, “So do I.”

In his third season with the Raiders, Adams caught 18 passes for 209 yards with one touchdown in the first three weeks of the season. He didn't play in Sunday's win over the Browns because of a hamstring injury, but he noted in Tuesday's interview that he's feeling much better.
