The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks face off in a key NFC game on Monday Night Football. Both teams have a winning record through three games (Lions 2-1, Seahawks 3-0), but they did it in very different ways.

Oddly enough, the Seahawks have only played AFC opponents, defeating the Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins. Of those teams, only the Broncos have two wins, while the Patriots and Dolphins currently look lifeless.

On the other hand, the Lions have only played against NFC opponents. Both of their wins came against teams with current losing records (Rams: 1-3, Cardinals: 1-3), and their only loss came against a 3-1 Buccaneers team.

It's safe to say both teams are still trying to figure out how to compete with the best of the best, and Monday night will be a tough litmus test for both teams.

It's going to be a big night in Detroit because not only is it a Monday night primetime game at Ford Field – one of the loudest stadiums in football right now – but Detroit will also unveil its black jerseys, honoring Calvin Johnson at halftime.

This post provides live updates from Ford Field as the game continues. In short, once the games begin we will provide drive-by-drive analysis, highlights, results updates and the latest injury news in one post. Just stay here and refresh the page as the game progresses.

See you at kick-off.

First quarter

The Lions won the toss and elected to receive, a change in strategy from their normal deferral method. The strategy didn't work as the Lions quickly made a three-pointer. Jared Goff was sacked in the third and sixth after failing to find anyone open.

The Seahawks didn't fare much better on offense. While it started with a 20-yard strike from Geno Smith to DK Metcalf, Seattle failed to get another first down and punched back to Detroit, pinning the Lions at their own 7-yard line.

The Lions offense regained momentum on the ensuing drive. Detroit started with an 11-yard run to David Montgomery and was quickly out of its own end zone. Then Goff found Jameson Williams for 10 and Amon-Ra St. Brown for 17 to move into Seahawks territory. Two more rushes by Montgomery gained 20 yards and Detroit was in the red zone. Then Jahmyr Gibbs split the defense for 19 yards to the Seahawks' 4-yard line. Three plays later, Montgomery plowed in from 1 yard out for an early attack 7:0 Lions lead.

The Seahawks drove inside Lions territory, but Jack Campbell put an end to that. As Metcalf struggled for additional yards, Campbell hit Metcalf, freeing the ball, and Carlton Davis returned the fumble to the Seahawks' 14-yard line.

A pass to Brock Wright gave the Lions the lead from the 3-yard line as the game entered the second quarter.

Second quarter

On the first play of the next quarter, Gibbs held on for a touchdown and a The Lions lead 14-0.

However, the Seahawks would respond. Aided by a questionable hold call on Davis when Detroit got a third-down stop, the Seahawks struck with a 29-yard pass to Metcalf to the 1-yard line. Kenneth Walker put it in there to make it happen 14-7 Lions.
