Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has been involved in some pretty difficult negotiations during his time on the big court at Warrior Ice Arena.

Jeremy Swayman's has to be one of the toughest, right?

Sweeney and Swayman agreed to the terms of an eight-year extension on Sunday, with the former comparing it to those of another recent negotiation that ultimately worked out for the Black and Gold.

“(David Pastrnak’s) took a long time,” Sweeney told reporters on Sunday. “I think I've been pretty consistent in saying that every deal has its own timeline. Pastrnak's contract was signed relatively early last offseason, but only came about after more than a year of negotiations between his camp and Sweeney. Finally, in March 2023, the Bruins signed their sharpshooter to a massive eight-year, $90 million contract extension.

Swayman, unlike Pastrnak, was a restricted free agent, so there was less time to settle on a number until things were finally buttoned up.

However, the B's did it and added another star to their core.
