Employee dies after chemical plant incident, officials say

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) – A worker at CF Industries died after sustaining an injury on Wednesday afternoon, October 2, the company confirmed.

A spokesperson for CF Industries said the incident occurred at the Donaldsonville Complex around 1:45 p.m.

Medical personnel were on scene, responded quickly to assist in the assessment, and the employee was transported to a nearby hospital, according to the company.

CF Industries officials released the following statement:

They confirmed that this was an isolated incident with no associated operational issues or off-site impact.

CF Industries Donaldsonville is a chemical manufacturing complex.
