BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Officials say an employee at a Donalsonville chemical plant was injured following an incident Wednesday.

Chris Close, senior director of corporate communications at CF Industries, said an employee was injured around 1:45 p.m. The status of the injury is currently unknown.

At the time of the incident, medical personnel responded to the scene and assessed the employee's injuries, Close said. The employee was taken to a local hospital.

“This was an isolated incident with no associated operational issues or off-site impacts. Our focus is on the injured employee, ensuring their family has all resources available to them during this time, and supporting our Donaldsonville team,” the chemical plant said in a statement.

No further details regarding the employee's identity or injury have been released at this time.

CF Industries is a nitrogen complex located at 3089 Louisiana Highway in Donaldsonville.
