After the cameras clapped and cheered for Swift during Monday's broadcast following a good play from Kelce, 35, Aikman quipped, “The woman likes it.”

His partner, Joe BuckHe then asked him about his choice of words and reminded him, “You know they're not married, right?”

Aikman, who apparently already knew Swift and Kelce were still together, responded, “I'm sure I'll get in trouble for saying that.”

And it looks like he wasn't wrong.

Some fans on social media were put off by Aikman's statement, including one user who took to X (formerly Twitter) and said, “Dear Troy Aikman, DO NOT call Taylor Swift 'the woman.'” It's demeaning. Even if she were his wife: She is Taylor Alison Swift – a global superstar.

Someone else said after the comment that Aikman was “already preparing for the outrage he will receive.”

However, others argued that it wasn't a “big deal,” including Buck, who told Aikman, “I mean, it happens.”
