Golden Knights defeated by Avalanche 3-1

The Golden Knights fell to the Colorado Avalanche in a 3-1 preseason loss on Thursday at T-Mobile Arena.

How things went downhillColorado took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. After the Avalanche extended their lead to two in the second period, Jack Eichel scored on the power play 1:35 minutes before the end of the second period, cutting the lead in half. In the final minute of the third period, the Avalanche scored an empty goal to take a 3-1 lead. Ilya Samsonov saved 24 times of the 26 shots he faced.
