MIAMI – A police investigation forced the evacuation of waiting lounges at Miami International Airport on Monday afternoon.
The airport's communications director said Miami-Dade police were “investigating a suspicious item, therefore passengers are not permitted to enter Concourses H and J.”

By 5:30 p.m. the police had completed their investigation and reopened the halls. They didn't say what the suspicious item was.

The incident increased security at the airport on Monday. October 7thexactly one year after that Attack on Israelwhich puts authorities on high alert.

Passengers traveling through Miami International Airport are advised to check with their airline for any current delays or changes to their flight schedules.
