Heading to Halloween Night 4: “Friday the 13th Part III” and “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter”

As the spooky season continues, we're officially entering the fourth night of Bounding Into Halloween – and what better way to celebrate the first Friday in October than with a swim in Crystal Lake?

In this 1982 franchise favorite, the body count rises as the “death curse” continues for the counselors at Camp Crystal Lake.

With Friday the 13th^Th Part III And Warlock Director Steve Miner returns to the director's chair for another hike through the trails in the company of everyone's favorite woodsman. This third part of the series begins with a recap of the last film. And while it's hard to believe that there are people who will actually watch the sequel to a movie they haven't even seen yet, they do exist – but all that really matters is that Jason is back and ready to commit permanently something to cool down overheated teenagers. Only this time he's going to do it in 3D!!!

After suffering a humiliating defeat in the last film, Jason Voorhees (the late/great Richard Brooker) decides to retreat to the woods for some much-needed rest.

Jason is still burned by his loss caused by a ruse and is far from feeling like playing games. He makes a quick stop on the way home to kill a shopkeeper (along with his nagging wife) and steal some new clothes. An easy way to get clean threads and peaceful solitude – or so he thinks.

Meanwhile, before the blood of their former visitors can even dry, Chris Higgins (Dana Kimmell) and her friends take a trip to her family's campsite, Higgins Haven (Cha-Ching!).

Chris returns to Higgins Haven to retrieve some old corpses from their supposedly spacious closet and thus find closure for an old trauma. Chris is joined by the extremely active couple Andy and Debbie (with a hammock), the groovy stoner couple Chuck and Chili, poor Vera and her obnoxious blind date Shelly, a pathetic soul with a body as round as Heathcliff's who is always feeling the need , playing pranks on everyone (without giving too much away, Shelly is eventually killed, although not soon enough). At Higgins Haven, her friendly (but soft-headed) boyfriend Rick is waiting for Chris, who has a crush on him that's on the verge of bursting. You better keep an eye on him.

This movie came out at a time when movie studios (for all their wisdom) thought that everyone would want to sit through an entire movie in 3D rather than get tired of it after 20-30 minutes. This effect admittedly does nothing to improve the film, but that doesn't stop its use in the opening credits from being a novelistic delight. Friday the 13th^Th Part 3 is also the episode that introduced Jason's iconic hockey mask, which would later become a staple of his character and continues to bleed through to this day.

All good things must come to an end, and while the genre itself entered arguably (or in my opinion objectively) greatest era, the '80s also featured a certain popular horror figure.

The 1980s were a great time for horror film fans, with fantastic magazines like Fangoria flying off the shelves and the growing heavy metal movement gaining immediate support. However, none of this seemed to interest producer Frank Mancuso Jr. Seeing the popularity of slasher films waning (and nursing his own inflated ego), he decided to end Friday the 13th^Th Franchise with its fourth part.

To that end, he brought in makeup effects wizard Tom Savini (who worked on the first film) to splatter the sets with his dark magic. Then on Friday April 13th^Th1984, Paramount Pictures released Friday the 13th^Th: The final chapter. Possibly the best sequel in the entire series, it also has the most dishonest title in all of film history.

It is believed that Jason Voorhees (Ted White) was finally killed at the end of the last film and is taken to the local morgue. But of course his “dead status” doesn't last long, and shortly after his arrival he decapitates the coroner with a hacksaw, cuts open a nurse's intestines with a scalpel, and makes another escape to freedom (but this time it's just him, he goes). the hospital).

How Jason managed to escape a hospital most likely crawling with cops remains a mystery (but at the same time, hey, who wants to go in there?) That's the guy Away?). It's all for the best as he manages to get back to the woods of Camp Crystal Lake just in time as more visitors are on the way.

Friday the 13th^Th: The final chapter was obviously not the final film in the series, but is considered by many fans to be the last to feature Rambo Jason, which was followed by the mercifully short Impostor Jason Part V and then the popular “Zombie Jason” followed. Whether this film is the best of the series will always be up for debate, but there's no denying that it has the coolest poster.
