If you haven't started your holiday shopping yet, this is a good week to do so because there are tons of savings to be had at upcoming sales events from Amazon, Walmart, Kohl's, and Target.

Buyers, start your engines. A major holiday shopping extravaganza begins on Sunday, with top retailers hosting major sales events.

Some of the biggest names in retail are hosting fall sales events ahead of the holidays starting this week. Target kicks off the spending spree with the week-long Target Circle Week. Kohl's will start its 3-day offers on Monday.

The next day, retail's biggest retailers, Amazon and Walmart, are in on the action with Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days event and Walmart's Holiday Deals event.

According to a survey conducted by Circana, more buyers plan to take advantage of fall promotional events than in the past two years. 19% said they get the best deals there. But even more (24%) believe they can get better deals during Black Friday sales.

Here's what you should know about this week's events.

Target district week

Dates: 6th-12th OctDetails: To take advantage of the week-long sale event, which runs through Saturday, October 12, you must be a member of Target Circle, the retailer's free loyalty program. You can sign up at Target.com and in the Target app. Target Circle credit cardholders also receive 5% off purchases, as well as free two-day shipping on some items and more time for returns.

During the event, Target Circle members can save on clothing, bedding, bath, appliances, luggage and more – and of course, toys. Target Circle members can spend $40 on toys and get $10 off, or spend $75 on toys and get $20 off. Target recently released its Bullseye Top Toys list with its top picks.

Other top deals include up to 50% off select kitchen products from Cuisinart and Instant Pot, and up to 40% off vacuum cleaners from brands like Bissell and Shark.

Kohl's 3-Day Deals

Dates: Monday, October 7th to Wednesday, October 9th.

Details: The event, running through Wednesday, October 9, in stores and on Kohls.com, includes storewide discounts and daily deals on toys, tech, kitchen appliances, home decor, fall clothing including denim and outerwear, shoes, baby and beauty products and many more accessories. Speaking of toys, Kohl's also released its list of the top holiday toys of 2024 in September.

Members of the Kohl's Rewards loyalty program will receive exclusive offers during the event. Plus, they'll earn a $15 reward for every $100 they spend, or if they pay with a Kohl's card, a $20 reward. Loyalty members also receive $10 off every $50 spent on household products and $10 off every $50 or $25 off every $100 spent on toys, puzzles and games be issued.

All shoppers can receive a 25% discount code and coupon for qualifying merchandise on Kohls.com and the retailer's social channels during the event.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days

Dates: Tuesday, October 8th and Wednesday, October 9th.

Details: You must be a member of the online retailer's Amazon Prime subscription service ($139 per year, there is a 30-day free trial) to participate in Amazon's sales event, which takes place on Tuesday, October 8th , beginning at 3:01 a.m. ET/12:01 p.m. PT, and running until Thursday, October 10th at 2:59 a.m. ET and 11:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday evening, October 9th.

Among the bargains: offers on all product categories from clothing to toys, as well as discounts on big brands like Barbie, Disney, Dyson, LEGO and New Balance, premium beauty brands like Clinique, Dr. Barbara Sturm and Kiehl's as well as Amazon exclusive offers products from Beats, Casper and Conair.

Walmart holiday deals

Dates: 8th-13th Oct

Details: Walmart's Holiday Deals days include deals on toys, electronics and other categories including home and fashion. Deals include: $300 off a refrigerator, $100 off a gaming laptop, and $20 savings on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Pizza Fire Delivery Van ($29).

Members of the Walmart+ subscription service (30-day free trial, then $12.95 monthly or $98 annually) get a 12-hour head start on deals on Walmart.com and the Walmart app starting at noon Tuesday. The general public will have access to the sale prices online on Tuesday lunchtime. In-person shoppers will receive the deals when stores open on Wednesday, October 9th local time.
