How to watch the Fox News-CBS Vice Presidential Debate simulcast

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance will take the stage for a debate on Tuesday, likely the only debate between the vice presidential candidates as the election enters its final stages.

The vice presidential debate will be moderated by “CBS Evening News” anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell and “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan and will take place on Tuesday, October 1 at 9 p.m. ET. CBS News will moderate the debate and coverage begins at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Fox News will also provide pre- and post-debate coverage and will simulcast the event on Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox News Digital, Fox News Audio and FOX Nation.

The vice presidential debate, like the previous presidential debate, will take place without an audience and is scheduled to last 90 minutes, with the candidates given two four-minute breaks.

The closing speech will last two minutes, while a coin toss last week revealed that Vance would be the last to give the closing speech to voters.

Each candidate has a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water on stage, but does not receive any questions in advance. Campaign staff are not allowed to interact with candidates during breaks and microphones are not automatically muted, but they can be muted at the request of moderators.

Candidates have two minutes to answer questions and the other candidate has two minutes to respond. From then on, each candidate has one minute for rebuttals.
