Rays ask Milton for “patience” as they assess stadium damage Big Game Reese? The Tigers right-hander is expected to be on the hot seat in Game 4

Heavy rain from Hurricane Milton has led to what Plant City officials are calling “unprecedented” flooding and dozens of rescues.

In a Facebook Live update early Thursday, City Manager Bill McDaniel said more than a foot of rain fell in the city during the storm.

“We have neighborhoods that are literally under water,” McDaniel said. “We have roads under water. They are impassable. Baker Street, Reynolds Street, the water is up to the door panels of passenger cars.”

Rain poured in from Milton on Wednesday, with flooding occurring in some areas before sunset. Conditions worsened on Thursday night.

McDaniel also said first responders rescued 35 people from floodwaters within two hours. He urged everyone to stay home while crews respond to calls.

McDaniel said the city is also dealing with a flooded sewer system with more than three times the volume of water that normally flows through the facility.
