IND vs. BDESH 2024/25, IND vs. BAN 2nd test match report, September 27th – October 1st, 2024

For the second day in a row, there was no play in the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. Unlike Saturday, there wasn't a single drop of rain today, but a wet outfield resulted in the game being abandoned at 2 p.m. Ironically, as soon as the referees made this decision, the sun came out from behind the clouds.

After three days, Bangladesh are 107 for 3 in the first innings of the Test. There are still two days left but the chances of a result have drastically reduced.

The day began with the covers being removed from the outfield. An inspection was scheduled for 10 a.m. Soon after, the ground staff also removed the main cover and began marking the crease on both sides of the pitch.

But when the umpires came to inspect, they found that certain areas in the outfield, particularly in the middle of the field, in the middle and in the bowler's run-up from the end of the media box, were too wet to begin play.

They scheduled the next inspection for midday. But things hardly improved, much to the frustration of fans who, as it was a Sunday, turned up in large numbers.

Meanwhile, the ground crew seemed to be relying solely on the sun to work its magic. Another inspection was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. when the referees decided it was done for the day.
