Peppers was downgraded from questionable due to a knee injury to out on the Patriots' injury report on Saturday following the incident.

“He called me that morning. I knew what was going on. “We have informed the NFL of what was going on and are still gathering information,” Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said on WEEI Monday morning, according to MassLive.com.

Peppers, 29, is in his third year with New England and was named captain this offseason.

“We are aware of the incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend, which police are currently investigating. We will have no further comment at this time,” a Patriots spokesperson told MassLive.

Peppers is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday afternoon.

Peppers is a New Jersey native who played with the Giants from 2019-21.
