The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a hard time getting in sync at the start of the 2024 NFL season, and that frustration boiled over on the sidelines between quarterback Trevor Lawrence and wide receiver Gabe Davis against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The conflict arose on the Jaguars' first drive of the game, when they found themselves in a four-and-2 situation from the Indianapolis 26-yard line. Lawrence couldn't connect with rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. to move the chains and turned the ball over on downs.

But during the play, Davis pivoted to the middle of the field and appeared to be wide open, although Lawrence passed the ball to Thomas instead. Davis immediately clapped in Lawrence's direction.

Then CBS sideline reporter Adita Kinkhabwala said during the broadcast that Lawrence threw a tablet and Davis had to be stopped by teammates from potentially escalating things with his quarterback.

Jacksonville, which hasn't won this season, hasn't been the best on offense, but you never want to see your teammates as frustrated as Davis and Lawrence.

But the Jaguars' first drive of the game didn't hurt them, as Lawrence orchestrated two scoring drives after that.

After a field goal on a 14-play drive that ended 7:46 of the first half, Lawrence needed just one play to beat Thomas, who broke free from his defender and hit the Jets for an 85-yard touchdown to make it 10- to score a yard touchdown. 7 lead.

Things didn't go well for Davis later in the half, however, as he fumbled a 21-yard catch on the drive after Thomas' touchdown.

The Jaguars looked better against the Houston Texans last week, but they couldn't break Lawrence's losing streak, which stretched to nine straight games without a win since last season.

However, heading into a division game against the Colts, the Jaguars are in desperation mode and need to get a win-loss record to keep their season going.
