Folie à Deux' Eyes opens to $140 million worldwide box office CNN is introducing a digital paywall that will charge some users a fee to read articles for the first time

Earlier today (September 30), Boston Bruins president Cam Neely hinted to reporters that the Original Six club had offered Jeremy Swayman a $64 million contract:

“I know I have 64 million reasons why I would play right now.”

In response to Neely's comments, Swayman's agent Lewis Gross has now released a statement defending his client.

Here's what Gross said on the subject:

“Normally I don’t make statements or discuss negotiations through the media. However, in this case I feel that I have to defend my client. At today's press conference the figure was 64 million US dollars. This was the first time this figure had been discussed.” “No offer that reached this size had been made before the press conference.”

Gross also ended his statement with the following words:

“We are extremely disappointed. That wasn't fair to Jeremy. We will take a few days to discuss what happens next.”

This is undoubtedly a surprising and worrying development. If Swayman and his agent first heard that a $64 million offer was on the table, Neely's earlier comment won't help a new deal come together any faster.

We'll now have to wait and see how Neely and the rest of the Bruins management react to Gross' statement. Obviously, this situation is only going to get more stressful for Bruins fans.
