George Pickens looks to the Cowboys and isn't worried about costly mistakes against the Colts LeBron and Bronny James are the first father and son to play together

Third-year wide receiver George Pickens is off to a fast start this season as the Pittsburgh Steelers' true No. 1 wide receiver.

Through the first four games of the season, Pickens had 20 catches for 284 yards, or 14.2 yards per catch. He also gets the lion's share of targets as he has 29 targets, while tight end Pat Freiermuth is the closest with 20.

Despite the heavy workload, Pickens had a clear message for defenders and everyone else on his eye-black jersey Sunday night.

“Open Fucking Always,” Pickens said with black eyes against the Dallas Cowboys at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday Night Football.

So there you have it.

This is not a new message or stance from Pickens. He always felt like he was wide open and wanted the quarterback to throw him the football. He has struggled with maturity on the field and has been frustrated in the past by a lack of targeting and success at times in the passing game.

So far this season that has not been the case at all. He had a 100-yard game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 and had at least 50 receiving yards in three of the Steelers' four games.

While the Steelers may have some concerns at the receiver position behind them, Pickens has been very good so far this season and is looking to show the NFL once again that he is a front-runner, this time in prime time.

While his message is clever and could be a form of phycological warfare for defensive backs, chances are his wallet will be a little thin later in the week as he faces an NFL fine.

According to Operations.nfl.com, Pickens faces a $11,255 fine for personal messages, according to the NFL's Accountability: Fines & Appeals. We'll see what happens to George Pickens' eye-watering message from a fines perspective later in the week.
