As the Minnesota Lynx face the Connecticut Sun in a physical WNBA playoff semifinal series, a heated encounter reportedly broke out after the final whistle in Game 1.

The Athletics Shams Charania and Ben Pickman reported Friday that Reeve had issues with the way the Sun celebrated their 73-70 win over the Lynx on Sunday. Per The athleteReeve “ran” toward the Sun players as they made their way to the locker room after the game, and Target Center security had to intervene.

Game 1 came down to the wire when Lynx star Napheesa Collier missed a three-point attempt from 24 feet as the final siren sounded. Suns forward Alyssa Thomas stormed across the court and flexed to celebrate her team's Game 1 victory.

“It was a physical series all season long. Every game is crucial in the fourth quarter and we expected nothing less,” Thomas said after Game 1. “We are two of the best defensive teams for a reason.”

The physicality continued in the Lynx's 77-70 win in Game 2 on Tuesday, even reaching the best-of-five series in one game each. At one point, Sun guard Marina Mabrey tripped Lynx guard Bridget Carlton, and Minnesota guard Kayla McBride was later whistled for a technical foul for taunting Mabrey.

The series continued into Game 3 on Friday night, with the Lynx holding a 14-point lead over Connecticut early in the fourth quarter.
