Noni Madueke was happy to add another goal to his collection but was frustrated with the Blues being held to a draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

In a game that offered plenty of chances and talking points, the visitors took the lead through Chris Wood before Madueke equalized. Forest were then reduced to 10 men when James Ward-Prowse received a second yellow card for handball.

After 13 minutes of stoppage time and a barrage of yellow cards from both sides, the winning goal ultimately failed to materialize as both Robert Sanchez and Matz Sels made big saves for each goal to ensure the points were shared.

Madueke, who scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge this season, reflected on the game and ultimately concluded that the Blues had done enough to take all three points and was therefore frustrated when he left after the The final whistle sounded.

“Listen, Forest are a stubborn team and they defended very well,” explained Madueke when analyzing the 90 minutes.

“Obviously we went into the game with the intention of getting all three points, but we just didn’t quite manage it and that’s frustrating.”

“Forest defended most of the game and were difficult to break down. “It's annoying that we couldn't score another goal, but that's football and we have to regroup now after the international break.

“Credit to Forest, they were resilient and put bodies behind the ball. “They closed the gaps and made it difficult for us, so they deserve our credit.

“But we still had chances to score another goal and in the end it’s one of those games that just frustrates you.”

Madueke, once again in the youngest England squad, was delighted to get on the scoresheet with a fine finish into the far bottom corner.

While the winger was delighted with the goal – and hoped to add more to his tally before the end of the season – he was ultimately frustrated that his goal couldn't contribute to all three points as we head into the international break.

“I'm happy to score and it's always nice to score,” our No. 11 added. “I missed a few chances in the last few games so it was good to get back on the scoresheet.”

“We didn't win the game though, which is the main thing, so overall I'm a bit disappointed.” But of course it's nice to score and I hope I can add to my tally this season.

“We started the season well but are still conceding a few goals and we know we need to get stronger as a team.”

“It's only been a few months under the new coach and things are going well. We had some really good performances and we need to build on that going forward.”
