Brad Marchand is still battling his illness and Matt Poitras is dealing with an injury on a daily basis. Neither will make the trip to Quebec City for the Bruins' preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Marchand left Tuesday's game after the first half due to illness. Poitras took a hard hit late Sunday night in the game against Philadelphia. It is not clear if he sustained the injury at this time, but he did not play on Tuesday.

Marchand is obviously a lock to make the opening squad. Poitras had such a trend before the injury. It's unclear how this will affect his chances.

Elias Lindholm is expected to play his second pre-season game as he recovers from a previous injury.

Max Jones and Jeffrey Viel, both sidelined with undisclosed injuries, are on the travel list for the game. The Bruins have 13 forwards on the roster, but only 12 will play.

Jones, Viel, Tyler Johnson, Cole Koepke, Patrick Brown, Fabian Lysell and Riley Tufte, each hoping for one of the final six roster spots, are all listed on the roster.

The Bruins have seven incoming defensemen but will train six from the group: Brandon Carlo Charlie McAvoy Hampus Lindholm Billy Sweezey Mason Lohrei Parker Wotherspoon Nikita Zadorov.

Andrew Peeke is the only defenseman expected to be in the squad who is not on the travel list.

Joonas Korpisalo is likely to start in goal in what could be his final preparation before heading to the opening game in Florida on Tuesday.
