After a disappointing loss to the Mets in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series, the Brewers now face elimination at home as they must win two straight games today and tomorrow to advance to the NL Division Series.

To get their first win, the Brewers send Frankie Montas to the mound. Montas had a solid second half after being traded to the Brewers at the trade deadline, posting a 4.55 ERA in 11 starts in a Milwaukee uniform, a number that came due to an eight-run effort (seven earned runs) against The Diamondbacks are partially inflated September 22nd. He didn't have much postseason success, allowing seven runs over six 23 innings in three appearances (one start) with the A's in 2020 and the Yankees in 2022.

Montas will face Sean Manaea, who had a career year in New York with a 3.47 ERA in 32 starts. Like Montas, Manaea didn't have much success in the postseason, with a 15.26 ERA and three losses in three appearances over 7 23 innings.

With the left-handed hitter on the rise for the Mets, the Brewers traded Gary Sanchez and Blake Perkins for Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell. Jackson Chourio moves to the top, followed by Perkins, William Contreras and Willy Adames. Sánchez is the DH batting fifth, followed by Rhys Hoskins, Sal Frelick, Joey Ortiz and Brice Turang to round it out.

First pitch is at 6:38 p.m. on ESPN and the Brewers Radio Network.
