This was a difficult loss for coach Jerod Mayo Bears-Panthers battle leads to ejections in Chicago's stunning win

Ohio State football hosted Iowa at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, handing the Hawkeyes one of their worst losses in recent memory.

The Buckeyes started slowly, only leading 7-0 at halftime, but they exploded in the third period, scoring a total of 21 points in the first period after halftime.

Transfer quarterback Will Howard was a monster and will be in Iowa's nightmares tonight as he finished the game with 209 yards and five total touchdowns, four through the air and one on the ground. Freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith threw for 89 yards and also had a score.

However, the Buckeyes became the first team in two years to score in the opening game against Iowa. RJ Young reiterated how impressive that was.

Ohio State improved to 5-0 with the win, leaving Iowa 3-2. In Week 7 they will play their most important game so far this season when they travel to Eugene, Oregon.

There they face the top ten Ducks in the rocking Autzen Stadium. It will be the first real test of the season for the Buckeyes.
