Robert Griffin III wants the Chiefs to trade for Raiders WR Davante Adams NESN's Sophia Jurksztowicz is taking a vacation

Ever since Rashee Rice left the Chiefs' Week 4 game against the Chargers in the first quarter, the only thing Chiefs fans have been thinking about is his timetable for return. The initial prognosis was not promising as many feared a cruciate ligament tear. The recurrence of the injury and the fact that he was sidelined so quickly had Chiefs fans fearing the worst.

Developments since then have been anything but enlightening. Early Monday afternoon, head coach Andy Reid said Rice would need to undergo further testing but stopped short of ruling him out for anything beyond Week 5.

On Monday night, NFL insider Adam Schefter provided a cryptic update that confused Chiefs fans even more.

Schefter reported that further testing was performed on Rice's knee, but further testing was needed to fully determine the severity of the injury. It sounds like there are differences of opinion and differing opinions on the injury.

The most fascinating thing is that Schefter said, “Answers are not expected until next week.”

This can be interpreted in different ways. An optimist would say this is a good sign that he won't be ruled out for this season. However, a pessimist would point to last year's Browns running back Nick Chubb, who had initial tests showing an MCL injury but later found to have simultaneous MCL, ACL and meniscus injuries.

It's impossible to know at this point. Second and third opinions will be obtained throughout the week before a treatment plan is determined. The only thing we know, however, is that Chiefs fans are worried and confused.
