October 7, 2024 – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that all driver's license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed from Saturday, October 12, 2024, through Monday, October 14, 2024 remain commemoration of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day.

Customers can continue to obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services website.

Online driver and vehicle services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver's license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals. Driver History Services; changes of address; letters reinstating driver's licenses and vehicle registrations; Ability to pay driver's license or vehicle insurance reinstatement fee; duplicate driver's licenses and photo IDs; Real ID pre-verification; and planning the driver test. There are no additional fees for using online services.

A complete list of PennDOT driver's license and photo license center closures in 2024 is available online. If you plan to visit one of PennDOT's Online Messenger Service Centers, please call ahead for holiday hours.

Please note that until May 7, 2025, Pennsylvania residents will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license/photo ID or other form of federally acceptable identification (e.g. a valid passport or military ID) for domestic flights or access to federal facilities.
