The Minnesota Vikings are one of two undefeated teams in the NFL alongside the Kansas City Chiefs. Just like everyone predicted before the season started, right?

The Vikings have been one of the surprise stories in the NFL, and while they were easy to dismiss after Week 1 and a win over the New York Giants, their success has become harder to ignore after wins over the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers. These victories alerted most of the NFL that the Vikings might very well be “for real.”

The Vikings moved up most outlets' power rankings in Week 5, but it seems like there isn't quite a consensus about the team – at least when it comes to their quarterback. In the latest power rankings from 33rd team Dan Pizzuta, Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold is ranked 19th in the NFL.

That might seem absurd on the surface for a quarterback leading one of only two remaining undefeated teams – especially when you add in the fact that Darnold is ninth in passing yards, third in QBR and leads the league in both passer ratings Passing touchdowns this season.

The rankings look even more disrespectful when you look at some of the names in front of Darnold – especially the name right in front of him, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence has the 26th-best passer rating in the league this year — a rating only slightly better than Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson.

Lawrence also has a completion percentage of just over 50% this season (53.3%), just four touchdown passes this season, and a passer rating that's a full 40 points lower than Darnold's.

Obviously, there is still some skepticism surrounding Darnold and whether he is simply a product of the offense he finds himself in with head coach Kevin O'Connell and the weapons around him, like wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Still, being so low in the rankings seems questionable at best.
