NESN issued the following statement on Tuesday:

“Sophia Jurksztowicz is taking a temporary break to concentrate on personal matters. The NESN team wishes Sophia well during this time and looks forward to having her back on the Bruins broadcasts when she is ready to return. In the meantime, we ask everyone to respect Sophia’s privacy.”

Sophia Jurksztowicz released the following statement on social media:

This summer I signed a contract extension with NESN and I couldn't be happier to continue my journey as your Bruins host. But for personal reasons I have to postpone the start of my season with NESN and the team. I don't want anyone to worry, I'll be fine, but right now I just need to take some time off from work. I have received nothing but support from NESN for my circumstances and I truly could not be more grateful to work at NESN or more grateful for the love of my teammates. It's only preseason, but I already miss being at the rink and I'll miss interacting with all of you too. You are the best fans in the world and you are my second home. I can't wait to be back. In the meantime, I'm always cheering.
