Sydney Sweeney on paparazzi trying to get a bikini photo deal

Sydney Sweeney recounted a recent paparazzi encounter in which photographers showed up at her home and tried to negotiate with her family for bikini photos of the actress in exchange for her leaving the property.

In a new profile with Shine As part of the “Women of the Year” series, the Everyone but you Star said the constant discourse surrounding her body has sometimes led to extreme situations with paparazzi, including one in which they followed her family around their Florida home.

“They said, 'If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I'll take pictures and then leave you alone,'” she recalls. While Sweeney did not provide further details about the timing of the incident, it is possible that she was referring to some articles in Page Six from early June of this year. When the photos and messages surfaced on social media, she said users speculated that she had called the paparazzi herself.

“Why would I call the paparazzi to take photos of me in my own house when my little cousins ​​and family are there and I'm in my backyard?” Why would I ever want that? I have pictures of these guys in kayaks hiding in bushes in the ocean. They arrived at 8am and didn't leave until 4pm. I should be able to be in my home and feel comfortable and safe,” she said.

Although the Fifty-Fifty Films founder said the presence of photographers doesn't bother her that much, the ease with which people can find her location or home scares her.

“If these photos go out, my actual safety is at risk,” the Emmy nominee said. “Everyone knows where I am. Now boats go by and I literally hear them saying, ‘That’s Sydney Sweeney’s house.’ It becomes a star tour in my front yard.”

Sweeney, who rose to fame on the critically acclaimed HBO series euphoria And The White Lotuswill soon be seen in Ron Howard's survival thriller Eden which debuted at TIFF in early September, alongside Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby and Daniel Brühl.
