Taco Bell fans are “very happy” that the limited-time menu item is coming back: “About Time!”

Taco Bell fans were thrilled to learn that a popular, limited-time menu item will soon be returning — although, unfortunately, the comeback won't last forever.

Markie_Devo announced the upcoming return of the “delicious” menu item in a post on Instagram on Friday, October 4. As the food blogger revealed, Taco Bell's Double Decker Taco is set to return to menus. The Double Decker Taco Supreme will also be available for a limited time.

Taco Bell initially introduced the Double Decker Taco as a temporary menu addition in 1995 when the fast food chain hired former NBA players Shaquille O'Neal And Hakeem Olajuwon for a commercial promoting the new meal. The special item “holds a deep place in the hearts” of Taco Bell fans, the company confirmed in a December 2023 press release announcing the item's recent return to menus across the United States

The Double Decker consists of a taco shell filled with beef, lettuce and cheddar cheese, all wrapped in a bean-filled tortilla. The Supreme version also includes diced tomatoes and low-fat sour cream, according to Markie_Devo's preview.

Both the Double Decker and Supreme are expected to return to menus at Taco Bell locations across the U.S. beginning Thursday, October 10th.

While some Instagram users asked how much the returned tacos would cost – a detail not included in the food blogger's preview – price wasn't an issue for everyone, as noted by one fan who shared: “Dude “At this point I'd pay for it, I fucking miss this thing.”

Overall, fans were thrilled with the news, with one person revealing that she had “wanted them to come back since the day they stopped selling.”

“I'm so happy it's officially back,” said another fan, adding that they hope Taco Bell “just keeps it on the menu” this time.

“I remember these!! They were delicious!” One customer recalled as another exclaimed, “It’s about time!”

“I don't know why they make these limited time items, they're so damn good!” said another customer.
