The Houston Texans have placed wide receiver Nico Collins on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the next four games.

Collins injured his hamstring in the first half of Houston's 23-20 Week 5 win over the Buffalo Bills. After being examined in the medical tent, he went to the locker room and was eliminated at halftime.

Before leaving the game, Collins recorded two receptions for 78 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown.

On Monday, Collins' status changed from day to day to week to week.

“Nico, he’s in good spirits,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. “Obviously with a hamstring injury it takes a few weeks so we will evaluate it week by week to see where we can get him.”

Through five weeks, the 25-year-old Collins leads the NFL with 567 yards. He ranks third in receptions with 32, has three touchdowns and is tied for the NFL lead with four other receivers with eight receptions of 10 yards or more of at least 20 yards.

Collins will miss the Texans' upcoming games against the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets. He is eligible to return for their Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions on November 10th.
