Amazon's Blink Mini 2 (7/10, WIRED recommends) records razor-sharp 1080p HD videos and reliably captures movement. It's also weatherproof, but if you want to use it outdoors, you'll need to buy the version with a weatherproof adapter ($30 in the Prime Day deal) to use it safely. However, features like people detection, live view recording, video sharing, and cloud recording with a 60-day video history require a subscription.

Although this speaker is small, its sound is shockingly detailed and has rich bass. It's also currently the best Amazon speaker you can get for this price. So with this discount, it's technically a bargain.

The Amazon Echo Pop (7/10, WIRED recommends) is one of the newest additions to Amazon's speaker lineup. The crescent-shaped devices come in fun colors and will fit perfectly into a colorful office or dorm room. It doesn't sound as robust as the Echo Dot, but it's still a good choice for casual listening.

When purchasing headphones for your children, it is important to ensure that the volume is limited to protect their hearing. The Altec Lansings are limited to 85 decibels, but also feature active noise cancellation to block out background noise. They are wireless and have a battery life of up to 15 hours on a single charge.
