Some “Dancing With the Stars” fans may still be stunned by the elimination of “90210” star Tori Spelling and former “fake German heiress” Anna Delvey earlier in the season, but the episode received historic viewer votes.

According to ABC, the September 24 episode received more than 14 million fan votes, the most for a single episode in the show's history.

The show is already in its 33rd season and has enjoyed great viewership so far.

According to a press release from ABC, the season premiere on September 17 was watched by nearly 5 million viewers and topped television in total viewers and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. That's a 4% increase from last season's premiere in September last year, which reached 4.78 million viewers.

The show is currently the most-watched live reality show on broadcast and cable for this age group.

The voter recount decision, which Spelling's manager jokingly called for after her departure, has not yet been resolved. During an episode of Spelling's “Misspelling” podcast last month, Spelling's manager Ruthanne Secunda called the elimination an “outrage” and joked that she “called '60 Minutes' to investigate.”

Rosie Perez and Gene Simmons are guest judges on “Dancing With the Stars”

“DWTS” returned Monday after a two-week hiatus for “Soul Train Night,” with “Do the Right Thing” and “White Men Can't Jump” star Rosie Perez as a guest judge.

The actress, who turned 60 last month, made a dignified appearance when she began dancing on “Soul Train,” the historic syndicated variety show in the 1980s.

The two-hour episode is quickly followed by an elimination episode on Tuesday featuring KISS singer and bassist Gene Simmons for “Hair Metal Night.”
