Hurricane Milton is threatening Tampa with winds of 175 miles per hour

4Weather warning – All is quiet on the home front as concern grows for our friends in Florida.

Our weather for the next five days can be summarized as sunny with highs around 60°C and lows around 40°C.

The most interesting thing is the outside frost chance Wednesday morning. Otherwise, the focus remains on Hurricane Milton, which strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane this afternoon and had winds of 175 mph as of 2 p.m. The current route brings Milton to the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday around 8 p.m. However, this distance can change by up to 100 miles or more.

Due to some wind shear, Milton should weaken to Category 3 or 4 shortly before landfall. But the number will make little difference, with the rise still expected to be up to 18 feet or more in some areas.

We'll continue to monitor the journey and bring you the latest news from Local 4 at 5, 6 and 11 p.m
