As the Michigan Wolverines continue to struggle through the air, one big question mark remains: Is veteran Jack Tuttle an option?

Tuttle, who was released in the offseason for his seventh year of college football, was expected to play a role in the quarterback battle this fall. But he's been dealing with a lingering injury and the recovery process has been a little more complicated than expected. As a result, Tuttle has yet to see the Wolverines' field this fall.

Heading into Week 6's game against Washington, Michigan, fans are still wondering if Tuttle will ever be in the mix this fall – especially because Michigan has one of the worst passing offenses in the country. Offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell addressed that question earlier this week.

“I won't give away all the details of the injuries, but Jack is progressing very, very well,” Campbell said. “He gets a few reps here and there.”

That last part certainly doesn't sound like Tuttle will have anything close to a role on Saturdays, at least not on the field. As we approach the halfway point of the season, it's hard to believe that the Wolverines would be willing to make another quarterback change this late in the game – especially for a guy who hasn't been healthy enough to compete for at least half the season.

Unless there is a dramatic reversal in the current trajectory, Michigan's QB options for the 2024 season will likely remain Alex Orji and Davis Warren.
