It's another seasonal and sunny Friday day before a windy and temperature-swinging weekend.

Expect a calm, pleasant day Friday with plenty of sunshine and southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph. Highs will reach the upper 60s statewide, with slightly cooler temperatures in the lower 60s in northern Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro will see a daytime high of 69 degrees.

Conditions will remain calm and clear overnight as temperatures fall into the upper 50s across the country.

Weekend forecast

Galeful winds from the south will bring warmer air Saturday, with highs near 80 degrees in the metropolitan area and southeastern Minnesota. A cold front moving in later Saturday could trigger showers across northeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Overall, the day will be cloudy with winds gusting to 25-35 mph.

Sunday will remain breezy as winds shift from the northwest bringing cooler air for highs in the mid 60s. Conditions will remain clear and calm to start the week, with a warming trend into the mid-70s by the end of the week.
