Union boss on US port strike: “I don’t play games” Tips for your trip to Birmingham for Bayern's Champions League game at Aston Villa

Allen Park – Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph has a feel for the football and has used it a few times this season.

Joseph has two throws in three games this season, blocking a pass from Matthew Stafford and taking away a deep ball from Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray intended for Marvin Harrison Jr. in Detroit's season-opening win over the Los Angeles Rams in the win week 3.

During his appearance on The Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams on Friday, Joseph walked Adams through his interception against the Cardinals. He also showed her the ball he took home. However, Joseph didn't have the ball off his pick against Stafford, and he revealed why.

“I don’t want that in my house,” Joseph said when Adams asked him why he didn’t have the ball with him. “No bad energy in my house. I gave it to my security director at the Lions.”

Stafford and Joseph have history. The former Lions quarterback expressed anger toward Joseph when he hit Rams tight end Tyler Higbee deep in the wild-card round last season. Higbee tore his ACL in the game. Joseph posted on social media a day after the game that he was praying for Higbee and his family and that he had “no intention of hurting anyone or harming his career.”

Joseph is off to the best start of his young career in 2024. According to Pro Football Focus, he has as many interceptions (two) as completions allowed.

“We kind of got the call late,” Joseph told Adams while discussing his pick against the Cardinals. “But when we got the call, I kind of saw it happening. … I just saw (Murray) staring at him, so I kind of just baited him and made him think he hit me. So when he threw. “I was there at just the right time in perfect position and I just jumped up and carried it out of the air.
