Will Howard threw the football against Iowa and had his lights out on Ohio State's very first drive.

The Hawkeyes opened the game on offense, but it didn't take long for Ohio State to force its first punt of the game. That boot forced the Buckeyes back to their own 12-yard line for the kickoff.

However, this field position did not deter Howard from the offense. They would embark on a clinical, 14-game drive that included over seven and a half minutes of game time.

Once in the red zone, Howard would hit Emeka Egbuka for a 14-yard score. It was a nice window where Howard passed the throw for an easy opening score against Iowa.

With the touchdown, Howard completed a perfect opening drive by completing all six of his throws. He gained 46 yards through the air for the touchdown and added a 7-yard carry to his tally.

Not only was Howard perfect, it's a significant offense against Iowa's defense. It's the first time since 2022 against Michigan that Kirk Ferentz's Hawkeyes have allowed a touchdown on the first drive of the game. That was 27 straight games without a touchdown on the first possession.
