Undated (WJON News) – An annual fundraiser has brought in over a quarter of a million dollars to nonprofits. Xcel Energy's 14th annual Days of Caring took place September 13 and 14 and 7,900 volunteers helped raise $260,000 in economic impact.

Volunteers participated in 125 projects ranging from packing meals to building houses to clearing trails and planting trees. Bob Frenzel, CEO of Xcel Energy, says volunteers come together year after year to take the time to make a difference in their communities.

In Minnesota and the Dakotas, over 900 volunteers contributed 3,000 hours with an economic impact of nearly $100,000. Xcel Energy serves the states of Minnesota, North & South Dakota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, Texas and New Mexico.
